weather kit report

Just as it says on the tin, the 2022 model does link to older versions weather stations (despite being advised it wouldn't).. Full marks for your advertisement assurance.

I don't thnk the manufacturer thought this sensor was this good

I have the Baldr indoor/outdoor weather station, I have had it for years, works perfectly but this review is about the outdoor sensor. I live in Texas, a bad storm rolled through one night, the next morning my weather station was not showing outdoor temp. I went to investigate, the sensor was on my patio, with the sensor, the cover and the batteries all separated in a puddle of water. Easy fix, went to the Baldr site & ordered a new outdoor sensor. BUT I decided to play with the wet one, I used a hair dryer on it, and then I buried it in rice for a day, finally put the batteries back in it, set it next to its weather station and walla! A couple hours later it started to work again. The new one is still in it's box as a backup. BTW, this was a year ago since this happened. I would say this is a quality product!

Does the job!

The remote sensor that came with the original unit failed (after about 2 years I think) so I needed a replacement which I bought on Amazon and despite having been shipped from the USA it arrived in about one week. In fact two sensors arrived, BALDR kindly gave me another free-of-charge which was very kind of them, particularly as I do run two Weather Stations at my home, so 10/10 for that.

FAQ

Collapsible content

What is the temperature range of this sensor?

Our sensor provides outdoor temperature readings ranging from -40℃ to 60℃ (-40℉ to 140℉). Please be aware that accuracy may be reduced in extreme weather conditions.

Can the sensor be left outside in the rain?

The sensor is designed to be weather-proof but not water-proof. Therefore we suggest placing it outdoors with a shelter. If leaving it in the rain, water can get inside the battery compartment and lead to malfunction.

One of my outdoor sensors is not pairing with the main device after I changed the battery.

Please try to see if the following helps:

  • Make sure all sensors have good battery power (2xAA batteries for each sensor). Once correctly installed, there will be a red light flash intermittently (not regularly). It means the sensor is working.
  • On the weather station sidebar, locate the "CH" button, press & hold 3 seconds, then release. All channels receiving signals now should be flashing, and within a few minutes, the sensor data should come in the display. This serves as a forced re-registration.
  • If any channel is still not displaying after 10 minutes, empty the sensor's batteries, wait one minute, and re-insert back. You will notice the red light immediately flash once installation is complete, and it should sync to the main station right away.

If one or all channels are still not synced after the above three steps, then it may be something defective. Please contact our customer support team for help or replace to a new sensor.
