    With its atomic time feature, the screen dims when the device enters WWVA atomic receiving mode, which occurs when it's first plugged in and several times throughout the day (mostly at night). During this time, it searches for a radio signal for up to 7 minutes, with the antenna symbol displayed on the screen. While searching, only the "RCC" button is functional. Once the search is complete, the backlight will return to its normal brightness, and all functions will resume.

    You can press the "RCC" button at any time to exit the receiving mode.
